LAMBING COURSES 2023 - DATES SOON TO BE ANNOUNCED

Ewes being fed Blue texels, ryelands and coloured ryelandsSummer is over, rams have been in with the ewes and been busy doing their work.  We will be scanning shortly and after then the lambing course dates will be announced.  We anticipate lambing to start Mid Feburary.  If you start lambing before then we can still accommodate you, you may not see any lambing on the day but we can cover all aspects, including photos giving detailed lambing.

The breeds we have are Blue Texels, Ryelands and Coloured Ryelands but Steve has an overall experience of lambing and a welath of knowledge to offer to you.

The courses this year went really well and the trainees really enjoyed their time and went home feeling confident to tackle their own lambing.

Cost £100 per person and includes lunch and an information pack to take with you.

LAMBING COURSES 2022 - DATES ANNOUNCED

Delighted to announce, that our LAMBING COURSES are back, obviously dependent on COVID Regulations.

The girls and boys have done us proud with 31 set of twins, 15 singles and one set of triplets due from end of January.  We are lambing the following breeds - Ryelands, Coloured Ryelands, Blue Texels and Greyface Dartmoor.

It is an exciting time when the lambs are born.

The LAMBING COURSES will commence from 4 February until the end of the month.  We do have a few late lambers which are due in March.

For the courses we limit the number of attendees to a maximum of 4 per day and the cost includes lunch, refreshments and a pack to take home with you.  Cost £95 per person.  We are happy to make the course bespoke to your requirements.

WHAT A BRILLIANT LAMBING WE HAD 2021

We were really pleased with the lambs that were born at Oakberrow this year -

Ryelands, Coloured Ryelands, Greyface Dartmoors and our new breed the Blue Texels.

As such it has been difficult to choose those that we are going to run on and those for sale.  So after much deliberation we have for sale some excellent breed type Ryeland Ram lambs and ewe lambs, 3 coloured ewe lambs and 1 well grown ram lamb.  Sorry all Greyface Dartmoor lambs are sold, but we do have two shearling rams for sale.

Blue Texels - we were delighted with our first ever Blue Texel Lambs to be born at Oakberrow and have a small selection of quality ram lambs available.

LOOKING FORWARD TO 2021 EXCITING TIMES WITH PUPS AND LAMBS

SloaneJanuary is going to be a very busy time for us here at Oakberrow.  Our sheep start lambing 18 January and also our beautiful Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla bitch, Sloane will be having her first litter on 21 January. UPDATE 25 JAN. ALL PUPPIES SPOKEN FOR.

NEW to Oakberrow are our flock of Blue Texels which Steve and I are very excited about.  The girls will start lambing February/March time to our handsome ram Buckenhill Denzel who has excellent breeding with Sams and Boys breeding.  Our ewes have been purchased from some of the top flocks - Misereden, Morridge, Littlebrook and Betws Blues.

The Ryeland girls are in lamb to Cagedale Windfall, Dolwen Yohan and also Strata ZigZag.  The Coloured Ryelands have gone to Bachebrook Willy Wonka, Rimini Yoda, Brambles Zebedee.  

The Greyface Dartmoors have gone to our handsome Swallows 1 who produced quality lambs last year.

So fingers crossed for all to go well and definitely something to look forward to in these uncertain times.  Take care and keep safe.
