Meet the new girl to the house - four generations

4 generations Tia Great Gran 15 years old to MorayGerman shorthaired Pointers have been part of my life for over 35 years and the Oakberrow GSPs are known for their beauty and brains.  Foster - Show Champion Oakberrow Wotzinaname - is 7 years old and the last of my line.  Earlier in the year I had an email from the lovely Stephanie Jackman asking if I had any pups which were related to Sh Ch Jennaline Herr-baceous of Oakberrow - Herbie, as her Herbie son Gunnel was getting old and as he had such lovely temperament and a great dog would like similar lines.  I had to say to Stephanie no but there was Foster.  So one thing led to another and In July Rosie and Foster got together and a gorgeous litter was born in September.

We have four generations as Moray has come to live at Oakberrow.  She is 12 weeks and a girl with character.  Stephanie has HP who is a very handsome boy.

Foster did it!!! Show Champion Oakberrow Wotzinaname Sh.CM

Foster retrieving a duckMy boy has been and gone and done it.  At the German Shorthaired Pointer Club Championship Show in July he won 1st in Open Dog and then the Challenge Certificate giving him that sought after 3rd so he can become a Show Champion.

I must record my grateful thanks to the judge on the day Martin Harris (Barleyarch GSPs) and also my runners - Des and Heather who did a brilliant job and also to all my friends who were there to cheer me on when I became an emotional wreck.

Foster is out doing what he loves best - that is working on the local shoots either beating or picking up, dependent on which shoot he is on.

Foster is available at stud to approved bitches only.

Foster wins his second challenge certificate at Windsor

We had a great day at Windsor Championship Dog Show.

Oakberrow Wotzinaname Sh.CM (Foster)

Foster - or his posh name Oakberrow Wotzinaname Sh.CM - won his second Challenge Certificate and also Best of Breed.  To top all of that he was also shortlisted in the Gundog Group by Carole Coode one of the leading gundog judges in the country.

Val Grant of Stairfoot GSPs was the breed judge and this was the first time that Foster had been shown under Val.  If my memory serves me correctly quite a few years ago Val awarded Guinness - Jennaline Seamour Butts at Oakberrow JW - a first in his class.

So roll on the rest of 2013 and see if Foster can win his all important third Challenge Certificate after which he will be a Show Champion!!!

Olympic Gold for Foster - Oakberrow Wotzinaname Sh.Cm

What a brilliant day we had at Paignton Championship Show yesterday - 5 August.  Breed Specialist Jean Bates was the judge on the day and she awarded Foster his first Challenge Certificate and Best of Breed.  Only 2 more and Foster can claim the crown of Show Champion.   To me it was like winning Gold at the Olympics, a day to remember.

It was great that Steve was with me and also my great friend Di came along and John together with JD - Sh Ch Oakberrow Xsepshunall at Southmead.  I would also like to thank everyone for their congratulations.

On a sad note - my sister Carina was not there to be witness to Foster's success.  Cannot believe that it is a year since she died.  I am sure that she would have been as delighted as I was with Foster.

So thanks Jean and roll on the next 2!!!!

Oakberrow Wotzinaname ShCM

Great news - Foster has been awarded his Show Certificate of Merit and can have ShCM after his name.  Even better is that the lad has done this since October attending the Open shows and his number of Best of Breeds, Group Placings have very quickly added up to the 25 points required.  I am very proud of him.  As you can see from the photos he is proud as well.

Today sees the end of the shooting season and the dogs will miss their days out.  Foster will not be able to attend Crufts, as a docked dog he cannot enter so will be a 'dock and denied' dog.  Seems stupid really as he has a life qualification for Crufts, even more is that he would not even be able to enter the Gamekeepers classes at Crufts.  Anyway that is the law at the moment.
